Putting the back into it...

Well part of the transition for any change - will more than likely require adjustments. After a visit from my brother and sister-in-law this past October, DT and I realized that the room that is upstairs that is serving as my office, really needs to be a guest bedroom...and that the room downstairs, that was "just" used as a room for the cats' food and litter...needs to be adjusted. So the room downstairs is becoming my office - a new coat of paint is always nice when you're making a room your own. However...the downstair's room has painted concrete floors...and a few "missteps" has started the project of stripping the paint on the floor. It has taken a lot longer than I intended it to. And a lot more muscle soreness...but it's coming along! Which is where my focus has been this week. That and getting ready for the upcoming holiday!
Merry Almost Christmas!

Starting grant writing course

At the suggestion of another internet user, I have signed up for a (low-cost) online course that is about grant writing. Starting a non-profit organization may lead to writing grants - for LCS or other organizations??

One of my grant ideas is already formed and I hope to get it together with this course! Proposal - providing low cost racing offers good fitness goal for amateur athletes of all income levels!

Printing Envelopes on a mac!

I face a few issues in this world:
1) I don't like to spend money unless I have to.
2) When I spend money, I like to spend it on quality products.

This leads me - in a round about sort of way - to not having the most popular software** for word processing, etc. on my non-windows-based computer (nwbc)**. Using the free office "knock-off"** has served me well. It is slower, but does the job...

I wanted to print on envelopes so that they would look "nicer" than hand writing. I don't want to have to buy labels if I'm just printing a few envelopes (see #1 above). Unnamed office "knock-off" doesn't seem to have an easy way to print envelopes. There has got to be a way to do it!

Using my favorite search engine**. I found this - - WAY cool!! You can print envelopes from the nwbc's address book!

**I will not name names unless companies want to sponsor Lucky Cause Sports :-D)

Today we're mailing the papers!

After our first board meeting this past Thursday night, Lisa has been elected president!  She is in charge of filing the paperwork to be (1) recognized as a non-profit corporation in the State of Washington and (2) register as a charitable organization to solicit money for the organization.
